Itinerary

Day 1: LIMA

Reception at the Lima airport and transfer to the selected hotel.

Overnight in Lima.

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Arequipa.

Upon arrival in Arequipa, we will be received and transferred to the hotel. We will have as an option the rest of the day to enjoy the beautiful streets, fantastic Plaza de Armas and Museums of the White City of Arequipa. It will also be possible to take the Campiña Arequipeña Excursion described below.

Optional excursion to the Arequipeña countryside

At around 02:00 pm they will be picked up from the hotel to start the excursion through the Campiña Arequipeña. This interesting tour begins by visiting the most beautiful architectural monuments and natural viewpoints that surround the white city. Our mobility will go to the outskirts of the city where we will visit the beautiful Mirador de Sachaca, which will offer us a spectacular natural panorama of Arequipa and its volcanoes.

Our vehicle will continue towards the Founder's Mansion, a beautiful construction from the colonial era, where the founder of the city of Arequipa, García Manuel de Carvajal, lived in the 15th century. To finish we will travel through a spectacular Andean landscape and thus arriving at the Sabandia Mill, a majestic construction made of volcanic rock known as ashlar, in the place you can appreciate an old stone mill that was built in the year 1785. The excursion concludes at 06:00 pm in the city center.

Day 3: LIMA – AREQUIPA RELAX

At the scheduled hour, departure to Chivay. We will begin the tour on the road to Yura, where we will admire the natural and cultural landscape of that area, we will skirt the majestic Chachani volcano and continue through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve until we reach Pampa Cañahuas, where the guide will explain about the flora and fauna of the area, we will be able to appreciate the natural habitat of the South American camelids within them LA VICUÑA.

We will continue with the tour until we reach a small stop in Patahuasi (house on top) to drink the hot coca tea, very high for where we will be. We will continue the trip to the bofedales where different species of local and migratory birds inhabit the area according to season, we will continue with our trip until we reach Patapampa, the highest point of the trip located at 4900 masl approx. Which is also how with the Mirador de los Andes, here you can see different volcanoes like Misti, Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya, Ampato, Ubinas and Chachani.

At midday we will be arriving at the town of Chivay where we will have lunch and then go to the hotel, we will have time to rest and then meet and visit the thermal baths of La Calera. These outdoor baths have medicinal thermal water where you can enjoy a very relaxing moment after the bus tour in the morning.

 

After a prudent hour, we will return to the hotel to rest and spend the night in the town of Chivay.


Day 4: AREQUIPA – PUNO

06:00 am. approx. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will start with the day excursion to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, where you can observe the majestic flight of the condors and the depth of the canyon. On this way we will make a stop in the town of YANQUE to observe its colonial church, dances of the Wititi as well as the typical costume of the Area. Back to Chivay we will visit the towns of PINCHOLLO, MACA, ACHOMA, where the guide will explain us their different customs in the area as well as the Lito models, colonial churches and terraces.

11:30 am approx. Arrival in Chivay.

11:45 am approx. lunch

01:30 pm approx. We will take the bus to Puno. The bus during the journey, makes small excursions in route, where we can appreciate a little more of the fauna and flora on the way to Lake Titicaca.

Upon arrival in Puno, we will be assisted and transferred to the hotel.


Day 5: PUNO / TITICACA / UROS & TAQUILE ISLANDS

At 7:00 a.m. our staff will pick you up from the hotel and to transfer you to the port of Lake Titicaca, our local guide will be waiting for us with the boat to start our great adventure on Lake Titicaca. We will leave in the direction of Uros, on the way our guide will explain important points of this majestic lake, shortly after we will arrive at the famous floating islands of Los Uros.

We will make the excursion on the island of Uros, visiting its inhabitants and learning about the customs of these communities that live for years in the highlands.

After visiting these magical islands, we will return to the boat and continue our trip to the Taquile Island.

We will sail for approximately 3 hours through Titicaca towards Taquile, a huge island characterized by its magnificent and beautiful fabrics. Here you will have the opportunity to observe how the people of the island make splendid textiles such as ponchos, belts, gloves and other typical high Andean clothing, all hand-made, after appreciating these beautiful works by hand, we will continue until we reach the top of the Island, where we will walk along a beautiful path, somewhat sloping that offers spectacular landscapes of the lake. The most advisable thing is to walk slowly, take it easy and enjoy as much as possible, since they are walking over 3,800 meters in a place in the world.
Approximately 45 minutes later, we will arrive at the center of Taquile, where we will finally rest and visit a small site museum, which through photos shows important aspects of the life of the people of Taquile. We will have lunch in a typical restaurant around the square, at the end of lunch visitors will have free time to visit the weaving workshops and take photos with friendly locals.

In the afternoon, we will descend towards the pier and we will start our return trip to Puno, we will arrive in the city at approximately 05:00 pm.

We will spend the night at the hotel in Puno.


Day 6: PUNO – CUSCO

At 06:15 am, we´ll be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the bus station at the Terrestrial terminal in Puno.

Our tour to Cusco will last approximately 10 hours, where we will have 4 excursions and guided visits to the most interesting places in the southern highlands, visiting the Temple of Andahuaylillas or Sistine Chapel of America, the Inka temple of Raqchi, the passage of the Raya at 4335 masl and the Inka Aymara museum in Pukara. Each visit lasts from 20 to 40 minutes, where you can ask questions, take photos and explore the attractions of the place, making this experience an unforgettable activity.

We will arrive in Cusco at 4:30 p.m., we will be picked up from the train station and we will be transferred to the hotel where we will spend the night

City tour in Cusco

Our transfer staff will visit you at your Hotel to transfer you to the starting point of your Tour, between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. The tour begins in the Cathedral of Cusco, decorated with fine carved woodwork and impressive altars and beautiful paintings, made by the hands of local artists from the Cusqueña School, who keep hidden elements of indigenous thought.

Then we will make a short walk through the streets of the historic center towards the Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun considered an indigenous religious sanctuary, where we will appreciate the fine work of lithic technology carried out by the Incas, with the highest level of hard stone cutting without A sheet of paper can be inserted and that despite the earthquakes remain stable to date. After the visit to the Qoricancha we will board the bus that will take us to Sacsayhuaman located 3km away from the city of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman offers us a panoramic view of the city of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman was built with large blocks of limestone weighing from 25 to 130 tons. We will also arrive at Qenqo, which means labyrinth, it is located one kilometer from Sacsayhuaman, it establishes a construction based on limestone that shows stone sculpture in 500 m2 accompanied by structures that according to historians were used for astronomical, religious and embalming and / or mummification.

Then we will know Puca Pucara: from two Quechua words that means Puca (red) Pucara (fortress) “red fortress”, a strategic place for control and surveillance of access and exit from the Imperial city of Cusco, which was used as a territorial border for divide the regions and establish the regimes of displacement.

Finally, we will visit Tambomachay: resting place, located 9 km from the city of Cusco, better known as the Inca Baths for the water sources, or also known as the waters of eternal youth due to the constant flow of its waters and offers us part of the Inca trail that goes from Cusco to Machupicchu. This city tour in the city of Cusco ends at approximately 6:30 p.m. near the Plaza de Armas.

Day 8: DAY 08: SACRED VALLEY TOUR

Between 08:00 am to 08:30 am we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and begin our journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, we will stop at the natural viewpoints of Qorao and Taray to enjoy the beautiful views and get to know a little with our guide. Next, we will visit the archaeological site of Pisaq, which is approximately 1 hour outside of Cusco. There, we will see Inca constructions of great importance that served as an adaptation area for agricultural products. We will have a two-hour guided tour of the archaeological complex before heading to the Pisaq town where the most popular artisan market in the area is located.

Subsequently, we will continue our trip to Urubamba, passing through traditional towns, such as Coya, Lamay, and Calca along the picturesque route.
At 12:00 pm we will arrive in Urubamba; this is where we will stop for lunch.

Our next stop will be the town of Ollantaytambo, which many refer to as the city where the Inca lived, as it still retains its original structure. We will visit the archaeological site that bears the same name as the town, at approximately 4 in the afternoon.

Approximately at 7pm (depending on the availability of trains), we will board the train in Ollantaytambo which will take us on the way to Aguas Calientes, where you can have dinner on your own and spend the night.

Day 9: DAY 09: AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU / CUZCO

Very early in the morning we will board the bus to Machu Picchu. At the archaeological site, we will immerse ourselves in the enigmatic beauty and perfection of incomparable Inca engineering of the site, which has made it one of the 7 new wonders of the world. We will have a 2-hour guided tour accompanied by a specialist guide who will explain the history of the site.

After the excursion, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. There, you will have time for lunch before we have to take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our economy class transportation will be waiting for us to take us back to the city of Cusco.
